Need to Know … from Peter Neal of Neal Bros.:This is my new standby in Halifax. Have dined here several times and left with a big smile each time. The room has a very welcoming and comfortable aesthetic, the food is outstanding — from appetizers to dessert. On my last visit I ordered food 'to-go.’ I love what Edna's is doing and Halifax is lucky to have chef/owner Jenna Mooers.”

Judge Kathy Jollimore of Eat Halifax says: “Award-winning Edna continues to remain at the top of the culinary scene in the province's capital city. Whether it's the popular lobster florentine brunch or a perfectly cooked trout alongside preserved yolk, squash puree, braised cabbage and pickled beets, Edna somehow manages to make each dish even better than the last. If the lineups are any indication, it's clear Edna continues to capture the hearts of locals and visitors alike with the small, focused menu highlighting the freshest in Nova Scotia produce, meat and seafood, and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the city.”

Judge Michael Howell of DevourFest! says: “Eastern Canada's comfort food winner. Duck confit is always a standout. In an edgy part of town with an edge to the cuisine, this restaurant delivers a big-city experience. The menu changes regularly but the current incarnation includes a delicious Halibut Puttanesca.”
