Melissa Baker has dedicated her life and career to improving Canadians' knowledge of food and what they should and shouldn't be consuming. The registered dietitian is also a talented blogger and devoted connoisseur of Canada's fine-dining experiences. Judges voted her entry in the 2015 Food.ee of the Year contest as the best among the more than 400 entries from across the country. In her winning submission, she wrote:

"Each day, I make it my mission to use food as a vehicle for improving the health and quality of life of Canadians. I love this 'work' so much and believe whole-heartedly in the ability of food to improve health. Food also has an amazing ability to create or maintain cultural ties, build community spirit, enrich celebrations and improve overall wellness." Read her complete award-winning entry here.
